Two women block the path. They appear to have come from behind on their horses. Behind them, the great mountain, a vast plain, dark yet luminous. The two look like two sides of the same coin. Like day and night. Or mother and daughter? They embody different qualities: directness, perseverance, self-empowerment, wisdom, gentleness, lovingness, and self-love.

Your protected land—what could that be? Perhaps your heart, your sensuality, your femininity, your feelings and thoughts? Our protected land—what is it? Our care for the Earth, community, our children, our well-being?

Ein Blick in die Welt der Künstlerin

All works of art are created with great care and love by Claudia Pollack. They serve as the basis for all high-quality prints on paper, canvas, clothing, and more.

Each motif reflects the artist’s deep exploration of femininity, inner strength, sensuality, freedom, joy, the nature of reality, and the magical. Claudia Pollack sees herself both as a woman in the here and now and as a being unbound by space and time.

I usually paint my paintings with acrylics on canvas.

For my mixed-media works, I use all kinds of materials—from natural materials I’ve found to beads, sequins, fabrics, various types of paper, packaging scraps, yarn, and so on.

I usually create my drawings with colored pencils on paper.

It’s definitely a good idea to frame your artwork if I haven’t already done so. A frame not only enhances the artwork but also protects it. Paintings on canvas can usually be easily framed in a shadow-line frame. To do this, simply purchase a shadow-line frame that matches the dimensions of the canvas. The shadow-gap frame will be slightly larger, as it leaves a narrow gap—the shadow gap—between the painting and the frame. You can also use a different type of frame for canvases, but always without glass. However, the shadow-gap frame offers the advantage that not a single centimeter of the painting is obscured by the frame. It also looks elegant and high-quality.

You can place drawings in a frame with glass. I recommend using a mat, because this prevents the drawing from coming into direct contact with the glass, which helps preserve it. The mat can even be a little wider, which creates a nice effect. You can also choose a colored mat to play with the visual effect. The mat should either overlap the paper of the drawing slightly, or you can deliberately choose a larger cutout for the mat so that a gap is created between the paper and the mat.

It’s also possible to use a display frame for your drawing. I definitely recommend this type of frame for my mixed-media works, since the materials used require space. A display frame is like a small box with a glass surface that allows you to frame even three-dimensional artworks. Here, too, you may optionally use a mat, depending on your taste.

If you need help figuring out the best way to frame a piece, I’d be happy to assist you. Feel free to reach out!

Acrylic paintings are lightfast. The varnish provides additional protection for the pigments. Nevertheless, and just to be on the safe side, I wouldn’t place an acrylic painting in direct sunlight for extended periods.

I recommend hanging drawings and mixed-media works in a place that isn’t exposed to direct sunlight for extended periods. That way, you can enjoy them for decades.
